Hello,
I have a WinXP guest running on an OSX host. When I try to install Cisco
Security Agent 6.0.0.220 the system (WinXP) always hangs and OSX reports
100% CPU to the VirtualBox process. The only option is to boot into safe
mode and remove CSA, the VM will then boot normally.
OK so CSA or VirtualBox issue? How do I find out?
A few details...
Currently running VirtualBox 2.2.4, but the issue has been seen on 2.2.2
and 2.2.0 (I think). The latest machine was rebuilt using 2.2.2; just
plain WinXP SP3, no other apps.
Looking through the CSA install log the only thing that appears
"interesting" is the following:
[5-28-2009 21:24:16]: [2009-05-28 21:24:16] IsExistingInstallHwMethod:
Did not detect hardware method for csacenter.
[5-28-2009 21:24:16]: [2009-05-28 21:24:16] IsExistingInstallKsMethod:
Did not detect kernel service method for csacenter.
Shrug... no idea if this is relevant. One other thing, talking to others
it seems I'm not alone, some folk in my company have seen similar
issues, but either they gave up or the problem resolved itself following
a few install/uninstall/rebuild operations.
Is there a way to figure out what VBox is "thinking" during the install?
Thanks,
Mark
