I have one machine that dual-boots Vista 64 and also Fedora [10,11]
Linux. Plus, there are several vbox guests, including Windows7 RC.
The machine is set up so that the one Windows7 vdi can be a guest under
either Vista or Fedora, depending on which host is running.
Using the same windows guest on these multiple host OS's causes the
windows7 to show the message "hardware changed; reactivation required"
or equivalent each time I switch host OS. I have tried to make the
memory, disk, network, and other vbox settings the same in both hosts,
but have been unable to stop these messages or the re-activation
attempts. Am I missing something? Might this be a windows7 RC
bug? Is vbox doing something wrong to present somehow
different virtual environments to the single guest? Naturally this
must be stopped before Windows7 refuses to re-activate any more :-)
Any comments appreciated....
