You actually could install xp on your own if you wanted to. The first way is to use a winnt.sif file to script the setup procedure. I've been able to use a winnt.sif file to start the installation of xp, walk away, come back when I heard the xp start-up sound playing, and start installing window-eyes, all by myself. I believe you can find documentation on winnt.sif in the support folder on your xp cd-rom, but don't remember for sure, since I can't check my xp cd now. Another way is to use FAI, http://www.informatik.uni-koeln.de/fai . I haven't tried this myself, but have heard from another blind person who says he uses it to install xp regularly. > When I start the newly cloned or imported machine, it starts the first > time. Are you using the same controller as before? Also keep in mind that xp doesn't support all SATA controllers out of the box, if you chose to use the SATA controller. You just might have to install xp from scratch. The up side of that is that it would give you the chance to maybe try out one of the 2 above install methods. Hth.
