I -DO- know that I switched back to 2.2.4 for just this reason. I run VirtualBox on a OpenSolaris 2009.06 host and vbox interfeares with my network. After running vbox I often can't connect to the outside world anymore on my osol host. Can't repair it either. A reboot is needed. I even once saw a warning about the vboxnet driver not being used anymore by the kernel. It just dropped it.
