Hi,

I have VBox 3.0.2 running on a MacBook (running 10.5.7) with a Linux
guest. Usually, I'm someplace where I'm connected to WiFi. I have
the Linux guest bridged on the WiFi interface. Everything works find
and the host and guest can talk to each other over the network.

Today, I was somewhere where there wasn't any network connectivity. I
figured I could change the VBox network settings to "Host-only" and my
host and guest would still be able to talk to each other (even if they
can't talk to the rest of the world). This seems not to be the case.

When I try to change the settings for the VM, I can change them to
"Host-only", but there is no "vboxnet0" to select to attach to.
If I go to "Preferences" and "Network", it doesn't show any of the
"vboxnet?" networks in the list. I can add add one with the "+" button,
but it never appears as an option in the settings menu and when I go
back to preferences it's gone.

Here's the weird part: When I go someplace with WiFi and connect the
host to the network, host-only networking starts working again. It
seems that in order for host-only networking to work, the host has to be
on a network. That defeats the purpose of it for me.

This used to work correctly on 2.2.4. Something changed in the 3.0.X
that broke it, I guess.

Thanks!
