Greetings --

There are two separate problems that I am experiencing; I would
appreciate any assistance in resolving either or both of them!

My Environment is AMD 64 FX-55 CPU; 2-GB RAM; Kubuntu Jaunty (9.04) Host
OS; Windows XP Pro ("Vanilla" installation) Guest OS; other information
will be gladly supplied upon request.

==========

Problem ONE -- VirtualBox-OSE 2.1.4 is installed and works. I am unable
to install 3.0.6 -- and would really like to be able to do so.

When I have attempted to install, I have received three diagnostics --
all at once! One says "Finished" and displays a "progress meter" with a
button going back-and-forth. The second simply says that "An internal
system error has occurred - KPackageKit". The third is even LESS useful
-- it declares that "An error has occurred." One display had a button
for "Details" -- but, when I chose it, my system hung completely and had
to be rebooted. So even the "details" are unavailable!!!

Problem TWO -- I do not see what I need to do within Guest WinXPP to
enable sound; NO sound plays, even though I have speakers (turned on!)
and all visible-to-me controls and options are consistent with playing
sound. However, there is NO speaker icon on the system tray!

==========

My sincere THANKS to any and all who offer insight or directions!!!!!
