I do NOT want to appear to argue with you in any sense. However, the
title-bar says "WinXPP [Running] - VirtualBox OSE". I have a Wacom
"Bamboo" tablet-and-pen device which is connected to the computer by
USB. And it works -- without the installation of ANY software -- as a
replacement for a mouse. Not only that, but I have a wireless mouse and
keyboard set which has a USB "dongle" receiver -- and both devices work
perfectly with no software installation at all (either in Jaunty or in
WinXPP). These are FACTS that you simply cannot refute.

This is a second reply -- because I forgot to mention two things.

I have a CD-DVD optical drive which connects to my computer by way of
USB. When I choose to enable it, it works just fine. In fact, that is
the device that I used for installing Windows XP Pro within VirtualBox
OSE!!!

Secondly, I have not been able to upgrade to VirtualBox 3.0.6 for
reasons that have not (even YET) been identified or resolved. So I have
version 2.1.4 -- which was the best that a repo had when I went there!

Oh, and a third item. I have long had a Verbatim 4-GB hard disk drive
-- essentially a "flash drive" in a very small square format. The
connection is exclusively USB. It works, both under Jaunty and under
virtualized WinXPP.

I hope that this information is helpful.
