Many thanks. Yes, I tried that. In the end, I found that they were available, 
it was just that Windows Vista was not showing them. When I went into 'map a 
network drive', the //vboxsvr icon was not displayed, but when I typed 
//vboxsvr/share_name into the dialog box, hey presto, it was all available as 
Z:

Now, I've got to persuade Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 to read and write from/to 
drive Z:, but that's off-topic on this list.
