All, I've found the 3.1.0 release to have broken directX 3D acceleration for me when running XP. (I did update virtualbox additions in safe mode) Direct3D 8 test results: Failure at step 6 (No hardware supported display modes found): HRESULT = 0x80004005 (Generic failure)I am on Mac OS X 10.6.2 with Windows XP Pro SP3 guest. I have upgraded the virtualbox additions in safe mode and again checked the box to install the 3D drivers. The same guest worked with dxdiag 3d acceleration for dx 8 and 9 modes on the last several virtualbox releases. Yes, the host-side settings do have 3D and 2D acceleration enabled. I first tried it with the same settings as before with only 3D enabled. I later tried it with the new 2D support also enabled. I have not found any combination that works.
