Hello,

I'm new in VirtualBox and run into some problems.

I have the following setup:

Version: 3.0.8 r53138
Host machine: Macbook Pro 2.53 GHz running OSX 10.6.1
Guest OS: Linux Fedora 12, XP and Windows 2003 Server

I tried setting up Shared Folder on all 3 guest OS. Windows machine work
fine. While trying to access Shared Folder in Fedora, the Linux guest OS
crashed. Rebooted it and the boot-up process seems to work fine until it
stop right before the login prompt and gave me the following message:

lo: Disabled Privacy Extensions

I'm assuming that this refers to the loopback device (the linux guest OS has
NAT networking setup while the 2 windows guest is setup as Host-only
networking). I tried to using different network settings including
disabling networking altogether but not to no avail.

On related note, how would you simulate booting into linux rescue mode? If
I try booting from the CD-ROM, I get the "FATAL: Could not read from the
boot medium..." message. I tried booting to rescue mode with both the
CD-ROM mounted and unmounted on the host OS but no luck.

'appreciate it if anyone can suggest other things I could try or point me to
the right direction.

Thanks,

--gene
