At my university we use condor to run many of our fluid simulations. Each simulation lasts for 20+ hours. I run my simulation on Centos. What I was thinking is, create a centos image and load the software and start up my simulation inside virtualbox. Then write a script which will snapshot every 1 hour to a file. If the server crashes on the 19th hour I can revert back by loading the 18th hour image. But how would Virtualbox handle my network connection? I plan to run over 1000 simulations and I would like to have that many virtual ip addresses is that possible?
