I've created a library of base vdi's that I then use for my various VM's and
need my differencing disks (created via snapshots etc...) to have the auto
reset property set to off so I don't lose the changes I make. How do I do
this? What I've done so far is us VBoxManage to manually set that property
off and this has worked wonderfully, not as 'easy' as VMware Workstation but
I like VBox better in all other ways except for this. It seems to me that
this should really be something that the user has an easy way to decide what
behavior they desire. VBox seems to have very few user options (unless I
just don't know where they are).

As a side bar why does the main GUI for VBox have soo many limitations? The
features are there, but you have to use VBoxManage to get at them. This is
fine but I really should be able to make a disk immutable via right click in
the VMM (same with the auto reset off). If this is because there just isn't
the man power to do so where could I get started to make this happen?
