I have never had a problem with getting a network connection on any
Linux distro installed as a VM in VirtualBox. But, I am having a lot
of trouble getting a network connection on a Linux system (LFS) I
built as a VM on VirtualBox.

I can't find anything in the Documentation or the FAQ or the forum
that tells me how to manually control/set network settings for a VM in
VirtualBox. I don't know how to see/find what VirtualBox is
automatically setting up. I don't know what the VirtualBox gateway
setting is. I need help getting this VM connectivity. Until I get
connectivity this VM is totally useless.

The VM sees the VirtualBox network the way a real machine sees the
router it is connected to. I can change the settings on the router to
be what I want and then set the correct settings on the computer so it
can connect. How do I do the same with VirtualBox?
