What is the benefit of doing bridged in this complicated way

when you can just do bridged by opening vbox > select a VM > settings
> network > attached to Bridged > name eth0 > advanced adapter type
PCnet-FAST III.

Then just launch the VM and set all network configuration in the same
manner as you would a RM on the same network.

This is what I have done for one VM and it works. What is the risk in
doing it the way I described?
