I maybe wrong, but why are you getting

"gcc -I/var/qmail/vpopmail/include -g -O2 -Wall -I.. -I./.. 
-L/var/qmail/vpopmail/lib -o authdaemond.plain authdaemond.o 
authdaemond.plain.o ..."

What is in /var/qmail/vpopmail/include ?  How did that get there ?
