I upgraded vpopmail to the last stable version like two or three weeks ago, and I have checked today that smtp-auth doesn't work correctly.
It seems that vchkpw fails to detect incorrect user/passwd pairs. If I try to use it as a relay without authentification, it refuses; but if I enable authentification using incorrect or non-existent user/passwd, it happily accepts the message. I'm using this patch: http://members.elysium.pl/brush/qmail-smtpd-auth/dist/qmail-smtpd-auth-0.26.tar.gz And I have also patched manually vchkpw.c, but it doesn't fix the problem.
