there is a patch for qmail to correct the way Linux filesystem work and how BSD filesystem works. If I'm not mistaken, qmail was developed for BSD and I did have some problem with reiserFS until I applied the patch

We're using RH8.0 and the ext3 journalling filesystem with vpopmail. We have been getting filesystem errors (lost inodes) and are wondering
whether ext3 is appropriate for qmail/vpopmail and what the best filesystem
might be for this application. Is anyone using RAID with qmail/vpopmail?
