I upgraded to 5.2.2, but I am still having the same problem. I also tried to recompile sqwebmail without authdeamon, but I'm still only getting in about half the time and it still looks like it's using authdeamon. What alternative is there to use with virtual accounts? Do I need to recompile with some thing else to authenticate?

again I'm using:
qmail 1.03
qmailadmin-1.0.6
vpopmail-5.2.2
vqadmin-2.3.2
sqwebmail-3.5.3

Try using vpopmail 5.2.2, as it corrects many bugs in 5.2.1.

You might also be interested in 5.4.0 which was just recently released.
