What is the best way to create .qmail files automatically when adding

Should I create an script to add the users and then find its directory
('cause 0/user, 1/user...), or patch vpopmail.c?

You could use the onchange feature of the recent versions of vpopmail. Vpopmail would call your script whenever a change happened, your script could check for the "adduser" event, use the vuserinfo -d command to get the directory, and then create the .qmail file.
