Hi Frank,

Thanks for your answer and sorry mine took a while. Anyhow: network is fine and 
server is idle. disabling EPGSync doesn't make any difference. Usually the 
client hangs after I close the window and I have to 'kill -9' it. But after 
killing it, I'm not able to connect to the http server with mplayer, at least 
not right away.

I compiled both the client and the server with DEBUG enabled, and the logs are 
attached to this mail. For server, I have one with a successful http connection 
and one with a failed vdr connection. Can you make anything out of these?
