I wrote those intro paragraphs because I hoped they might better explain Velocity, especially to a new person. The current Velocity homepage has an intro, but it is waaaaaay down the page, and IMHO, not as well written. ;-) > My question is - what's the purpose of each site? > Personally, I see the web site as the main info site and the > Wiki as a place for community-developed content (both user > and developer). I see the wiki as just an alternative way to edit the site via a much lower barrier to entry. (MANY folks have contributed to the wiki... because it's easy versus creating/submitting a patch to the website takes which takes too much effort.) Codehaus.org and hibernate.org are two sites that use the wiki for everything. Personally -- I'd rather see more docs move into the wiki and have the "website" just point to the wiki which..is..well, just a website with a different means to edit it. ;-) At the least, I'd like to see the most of the content on the wiki FrontPage to be the FirstThing(tm) that people see when they visit the Velocity site. :-) Cheers, Timo --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
