Nathan - (and other Velocity Tools committers),
We're being encouraged to clean up the Jakarta distribution directory -- see
below. I cleaned up the Velocity directory but left the tools directory
alone. It looks like there's a "current" set of files that may be
redundant.
Best,
WILL

Subject: /dist/ space usage
Friendly reminder:
Jakarta is by far the largest user of space under www.apache.org/dist/.
This isn't entirely because you produce lots of great software ;-)
And it is important because this directly is replicated to hundreds of
mirrors, including many new mirrors each month.
It seems that many of your projects have not recognized that only the most
recent release should live on www.apache.org. Other releases are
automatically copied to archive.apache.org/dist/ and will live on there
indefinitely. A quick check reveals that almost all of your projects have
many old releases in their dist directories that should be cleaned out.
I've included a sorted list of the space usage below.
Please confirm to me that you have received and understood this message
and will be taking some action to improve the situation.
Thanks.
