I have the following immediate need:

Rate: $ 50/hr
3-6 month contract
The project is an Engineering/IT development project. They are developing a
Nagios like Monitoring solution for large amounts of data. They don't need an Infrastructure guy who knows programming; they need an Eng. programmer who knows Infrastructure. Someone who has worked with Nagios or Groundworks would be perfect.
Python along with the focus skills below.
Solid programmer in C, UNIX systems, GUI (web2.0 is good, but web1.0 or Qt is fine), RDBMS and very good with visualization, tool smithing and able to jump through a lot of hoops.
It is not a unix sysadmin or IT role, but thorough familiarity in unix/storage/memory and computer architecture is a must. Must be programming and in-the-trenches.
