*Role/Title : UNIX/Linux/Backups Engineer Location : (CA116 Santa Clara, CA10 Sunnyvale, CA107 San Jose, CA110 Fremont, CA113 San Leandro, CA114 Pleasanton, CA120 Alameda) Duration : 6 Months * 3-4 Years of IT-related work experience 4 Year IT Degree or equivalent work experience Excellent English communication skills Adhere to established processes Good technical documentation skills Good experience in Solaris, RedHat Enterprise server (Versions 3-5), HPUX operating systems (Versions 10-11) Good working knowledge of NAGIOS monitoring application a plus Good working knowledge of NetBackup suite (Versions 5-6.x) Good working knowledge of Tape Libraries & backup technologies Additional Health and Safety Requirements (U.S. ADA) Position requires ability to use a computer for 4 or more hours a day. Travel and/or work off-hours may be required. Position requires ability to lift or transport equipment over 50 pounds / 25 kilos. Provide UNIX, Linux, Infrastructure project support Global project activities for all MD Sites Document implementation plans & test new procedures.
