*Role/Title        : UNIX/Linux/Backups Engineer
Location         : (CA116 Santa Clara, CA10 Sunnyvale,  CA107 San Jose,
CA110 Fremont, CA113 San Leandro, CA114 Pleasanton, CA120 Alameda)
Duration         : 6 Months *

3-4 Years of IT-related work experience
4 Year IT Degree or equivalent work experience
Excellent English communication skills
Adhere to established processes
Good technical documentation skills
Good experience in Solaris, RedHat Enterprise server (Versions 3-5), HPUX
operating systems (Versions 10-11)
Good working knowledge of NAGIOS monitoring application a plus
Good working knowledge of NetBackup suite (Versions 5-6.x)
Good working knowledge of Tape Libraries & backup technologies
Additional Health and Safety Requirements (U.S. ADA)
Position requires ability to use a computer for 4 or more hours a day.
Travel and/or work off-hours may be required.
Position requires ability to lift or transport equipment over 50 pounds / 25
kilos.
Provide UNIX, Linux, Infrastructure project support
Global project activities for all MD Sites
Document implementation plans & test new procedures.
Analyze Develop metrics based on data collected
Develop scripts, provide patching, tools, or applications for system
Administration, data management, automation, performance and capacity
monitoring, preventive

maintenance, disaster recovery and security
Server racking/Cabling/data center activities as required by projects
Apply knowledge of hardware, software, and systems applications, gathered
from technical users, to develop and implement programs, including
procurement and

installation
