Job Title :SQL DBA Location: Boston,MA Duration:6 months CTH Senior Level Database Specialist with strong MS SQL skills as well as skilled with Oracle DBS. The Senior Database Specialist (SDS) is an expert level technical resource that can work independently, leading the development of database solutions or providing leadership to small teams. The SDS is expected to make the technical decisions critical to the design, development, testing and implementation of Microsoft and Oracle database technologies. They are responsible for overall support of the Microsoft and Oracle database platforms in use at Arbella. This includes designing, testing, installing, configuring, diagnosing, and repairing of corporate databases according to Arbella standards while ensuring their optimal performance. In addition, the SDS is responsible for the design, testing and/or selection of new database technologies in efforts to enhance the Arbella technology platform. The individual is a significant contributor on technology projects and can independently support level 3 problem determination/remediation. The SDS is a highly experienced technician who can provide wide ranging support for Arbella's database platform. The candidate must have a minimum total of five years experience as a MS SQL and Oracle DBA, as their primary job function. Requirements: Bachelors Degree plus 7-10 years of progressive experience in databases. Proficient knowledge and experience in MSSQL (versions 2000, 2005, 2008) and Oracle (versions 7-10). Timely, efficient, and effective problem resolution (no requirement for escalation, collaboration, well documented resolution) Continually recommends and implements technology and process improvements. Engineers and documents solutions that prevent reoccurrence of system problems and issues. Is able to present solution details to technical and non-technical audiences. Delivers accurate, realistic and coherent project plans. Demonstrates solid planning skills, is flexible and adjusts well to encountered problems or changes in scope. Ensures their team delivers fully-tested solutions that satisfy business and IS requirements.
