Core focus will be on the IP packet based infrastructure supporting data, voice, and video services. Must have strong documentation skills and ability to communicate test results and deployment issues to a wide audience. Must have willingness to better the test strategy and deployment support for Client. Intermediate knowledge in IP routing architectures is desirable. These would include but are not limited to BGP, OSPF, ISIS, static routing, VRRP, HSRP. Intermediate knowledge in Ethernet based technologies and layer 2 switching. Advanced knowledge in OSI layer 4. Specifics including understanding the purpose of TCP and UDP based IP communications. Communicating the similarities and differences between UDP and TCP applications. Advanced knowledge in well known Internet UDP and TCP based applications. **Desired skills include* * understanding and experience with Juniper JunOS, Cisco IOS, & IOS-XR. Experience with Cisco 7600 and ASR9000 platforms. Experience with common tools in a lab environment used for traffic generation and test automation, such as IXIA and Spirent. Object oriented programming, such as Perl or Python, is a plus. Experience in general computing functions and IC properties (i.e. Ternary CAM, DRAM, SRAM, NVRAM, CPU multi-threading, interrupts, CPU efficiency) Effective written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.
