Description: The Student Information System (SIS) Programmer Analyst serves as an experienced applications programmer and is responsible for analysis, development, and maintenance of Vision in Educations Information System and associated applications. Participates in all phases of analysis, design, programming, testing, documenting, move to production, maintenance, and other databases based on needs. The Programmer Analyst will program primarily in MySQL, PHP, Laravel framework and SOA architecture, but will also be expected to learn and become productive in other languages and technologies as needed. This position is an experienced applications programming professional with a full understanding of industry practices and campus policies and procedures. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Excellent communication and team work skills, as well as the ability to successfully deliver on a wide variety of technical challenges and tasks. Qualifications: Bachelor degree in related area or equivalent combination of education and experience. Thorough knowledge of applications programming function. Experience in the analysis, design, development, implementation, maintenance and support of mission-critical, multi-tier business applications in an Oracle RDBMS environment as well as other database environments based on needs. Must have knowledge relating to the design and development of application programs across the organization. Experience analyzing business processes, interviewing functional experts to understand business requirements, and documenting functional and technical specifications. Experience in application design, data modeling, and process modeling. Experience with MySQL RDBMS application development, including development of tables, indexes, packages, procedures, triggers, views and other database objects. Knowledge of and experience in MySQL and other Database tools and technologies. Experience programming in PHP. Knowledge of UNIX and experience with UNIX shell scripting. Experience with the Student Information Systems is highly desired or other ERP systems. Ability to learn and utilize new technologies. Interpersonal skills in order to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Able to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner.
