This person will develop and execute software test plans in order to identify software problems and their causes. *Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:* · Review and approve test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures · Test and code solutions to complex testing scenarios in HPCCSystems.com open source ECL language platform. It is not required to know ECL to qualify. · Review and approve testing programs that addresses areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, or usability · Review documentation of software defects and assign software developers to investigate and resolve the issue · Review and approve test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates · Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance or completeness or to mitigate risks · Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems · Design and execute test cases in a Big Data environment, documenting results according to the established QA process. *Skills* · Must have very strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required) · Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time (Required) · Strong mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback (Required) · Strong knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology (Required) · Strong knowledge of XML, SQL Server required · Must be technical and a quick starter in a fast paced QA/Development environment · Must have knowledge of SDLC as well as Quality Assurance Methodology · Must have proven work experience with ETL and testing data in large systems · Experience and skills working with a Big Data system such as HPCC or Hadoop is desired · Previous proven development experience is required in an established development language: Java, C, C++ etc...
