*ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
Position Summary
Participates in all phases of the software development cycle. The chosen
consultant is responsible for data analysis and design for new and existing
products and works with the entire SOA Center Team. The individual will :
*Plan and Analyze:*
• Document and cross-reference business data terms and definitions that
occur in various databases.
• Review and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources with
ability to interpret data that is not well defined or documented and
develop recommendations based on findings.
• Conduct detailed analysis of databases and systems to identify real or
potential data quality issues including accuracy, completeness, relevance,
and timeliness. Develop data reconciliation and cleansing solutions.
• Participate in establishing governance for data management and
participate in the governance activities associated with ensuring
compliance with the enterprise information/data architecture.
• Assist solution architects in translating requirements into technical
specifications and data models for all assigned SOA projects. Consult with
IT staff on incorporating new technology standards into future projects.
Ability to investigate, research and implement new technologies in SOA
related areas.
• Provide technical consultation regarding data analysis in new SOA based
systems development, and enhancement of existing systems for other DOT
development teams; Aid in systems development planning and monitoring
*Track:*
Periodically meet with client to assess project requirements and the impact
of change requests on project delivery timeline for all assigned SOA
projects.
Requirements
- SOA based data analysis, design and development experience across a
combination of platforms including ESBs, Rules Engine and MDM tools
- Data analysis experience including data design and entity relationship
modeling
- XML Schema Design( experience with NIEM preferred)
- Experience working with architects to implement multi-platform SOA
based solutions
- Experience with data management, business intelligence and data
visualization tools
