Experience with test design/execution/analysis using SilkPerformer (integration with Silk Central is a plus, but not necessarily required. Additional LoadRunner experience is a plus) 2. Experience with the http protocol, testing RESTful interfaces, API-level load testing, manual correlation (not record and playback of web applications that run in a browser) 3. Systems level understanding of multi-tiered application software platforms (e.g. Apache, tomcat, back-end systems, oracle, and all the different interconnects such as VIPs/load balancers/IPS/FW/mod_jk – and how to debug bottlenecks and issues within the system) 4. Experience with requirements gathering, conducting interviews with product owners/development leads, forming a test strategy, entrance/exit criteria, execution, analysis, debugging, and working with inter-organizationally for the same. And can execute with directional guidance, rather than prescriptive guidance *The manager will hire over phone and Skype so candidate can be from anywhere in the US. Prefers West and Southwest but understands the market may require going the entire US.* *Consultant/ Staff/ Sr Performance Testers:* *MUST be able to Load Test against API’s* *Setting up Virtual users* *Testing again New Development* *Test RESTful Services against API* *SILK Performance – (Expert for consultant)* The individual will implement rigorous best practices for measuring, understanding, predicting, and improving the performance of our ecommerce, media, and entertainment platform. The candidate will also establish and influence quality engineering best practices across the development community. The position requires partnering across Product Management, Architects, Engineering, Hosting and Operations. Position requires extensive hands-on technical expertise coupled with ingenuity, ecommerce platform domain expertise, associated technology product knowledge, broad industry knowledge and excellent communication skills. Candidate is expected to work with globally distributed teams to engage early and provide continuous delivery of high quality software products that delight Sony customers. Must be results oriented individual with a passion to deliver quality next generation global media and collection of entertainment services to our growing customer base. - Performs a key role in the evolution of the performance, load and stress testing strategy, applying industry standard best practices and implementation to enable highly available, active-active, extensible services for the SNEI platform. - Plays a senior role in end-to-end quality, working closely with engineering, product management and operations. - Works cross-functionally with Product and Operations teams to define workflows and performance requirements.
