*We are currently seeking an ETL Developer for a 6-9 month CONTRACT, for
our client located in the OR*
Experience is necessary in Dynamic SQL and Embedded SQL
Initial location will be *Portland | OR* … open to
possibility of working remote once established.
In this role as the ETL Developer you will document, maintain and operate
the extract, transform and load (ETL) processes in scope that populate
related databases from various transaction systems and other data sources.
The ETL Developer will provide after-hours support for a limited number of
critical extracts. The position reports to the designated Manager or Senior
Manager and will maintain effective working relationships with staff in
Information Services, as well as with other staff, vendors and agents, and
others.
- Maintain, monitor and operate identified ETL processes that meet the
business and technical requirements of the specific project.
- Document all processes and support source code control using standard
tools and processes.
- Understand the source system data that meets the technical and
business requirements.
- Become familiar with the relevant data sets from transaction systems
through hands-on analysis, documentation review, and consultation with
application teams.
- Ensure that all assets and processes adhere to all quality assurance,
security, reliability and usability standards set by the Healthcare
Intelligence program.
- Resolve production problems through root cause analysis, data
investigation, debugging and testing.
*ESSENTIAL POSITION COMPETENCIES AND REQUIREMENTS*
*Education:* Bachelor’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree in computer
science, MIS, or mathematics preferred.
*Experience:* 6-8 years of experience or Masters Degree *and *3-5 years of
experience in ETL, software development, or data management.
*Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*
- ETL development processes and best practices using standard ETL tools,
ETL system administration experience.
- Advanced SQL skills including stored procedures, triggers and advanced
functions.
- Strong knowledge of relational database design principles; performance
tuning, indexing and compression, transaction management and partitioning.
- Strong knowledge in DSS architecture and data modeling
- Databases: Oracle, DB2
- Languages: SQL-PL/SQL, Unix, C/C++, KB-SQL, Embed-SQL
- Data transport methodologies and standards: secure file transfer, HL7,
XML, web services.
- Data warehousing and business intelligence principles; familiarity
with quantitative methods.
- Healthcare, clinical and administrative processes and data.
- Source systems: Lawson, Epic, McKesson STAR MUMPS (IBM AS400)
