A question for the group.
OUr radiology dept has recently switched to inserting only PASV PICCs. SInce then we have been TPA'ing the PICCs frequently for inablity to draw blood about 24 to 48 hours after insertion. We use the Baxter interlink needleless system and change the caps to that system. Does the interllink system interfer with the valve in the PASV? Any other thoughts as to why we are having to TPA these lines so quickly? IS flushing technique a reason?. Would appreciate the groups comments or ideas for resolving this problem.
Thanks
