I have a friend with breast cancer, whom has a pass port, developed a DVT after her second round of chemo, ended up clot in lower basilic, axilla and I assume subclavian. They gave her 3rd round of chemo before they sent her for ultrasound (with neck and arm swelling). Does that seem appropriate? The MD said that the clot was very large and now she is on lovenox and coumadin and her INR is not budging. They are planning to give next round of chemo the 26th. Any words of wisdom? In my postion we are usually called to just pull the lines.
