The point is that as of 5.1 MP5 a SAN media server can now restore to ANY client.
>>> "Jeff Lightner" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 5/3/2006 3:15 PM >>> As I understand it the SAN Media Server license is only to allow a server on the SAN to backup and restore itself. An SSO license allows a media server to backup and restore other servers. We use SSO for the purpose you indicate here with no problems. From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Bob Stump NetBackup 5.1_MP5 fixes include: Etrack Incident = ET522055 Hi Bob I don't think there's a way of knowing for sure without trying! PLEASE try and let the list know - my gut-feel says it should work as long as all the necessary SERVER entries are in place. Just make sure you have all the necessary logs in place before you start: bprd on the master, bpbrm on the media server, bpcd on the client. GOOD LUCK and please let us know! Marianne
