I have a couple of new Solaris V240 and V440 media servers that will be
using a dedicated EMC Clariion CX700 disk array for disk staging of
backups. We're interested in turning the HBA settings to get the disk
performing as best as we can so that duplication from disk to tape can
drive the tape drives at full speed. The tape drives are Sun T10000 drives
with a native throughput of 120 MBytes/sec so with compression we should be
able to get twice that.

Has anyone had any experience of tuning queue and throttle values,
particularly for rebadged Emulex and Qlogic cards on Solaris 9 servers and
would like to share their findings?

regards,

Aaron
