Yes, I have checked this chapter in the Veritas manual guide.

Actually we also backup only one RAC node.

But I believe that load could be more shared when backing up using connections from all RAC nodes and recording the backup in the index of only one node.

In Legato , I have done that and it improve our backup speed.

Just allocate two channels (for example) and make connection for each channel to a different node , but path the same Client Name to the media manager for both channels using the PARMS. this work fine with Legato , as both RAC nodes will be used during backup and in the same time all the backup records are recorded in only one certain client index.

To perform that , I have to gave other RAC nodes premission to write to this certain client index.

I believe in Veritas there might be something similar , but till now I can't find any document.

and our system guys refuse even to try it without any documents.

have anyone seen this case before or have any refrence ?
