Hi Eustace

Changing the retention of a policy never affects existing backups. If
you want to change the retention for already written images you have to
use

bpexpdate -recalculate -backupid backup_id -copy number -ret
retention_level

Cheers

Question on how changing the retention of the policy will affect
previous backups that had RL 9.

If I changed the retention of a policy from 9 to 5 .... Will this affect
all the backups of the policy or just the images going forward.

I.e. I do not want previous images to expire based on the current
retention change.
