Hi Jason,
If you have configuration information discussing the use of a Linux rather
than Windows based proxy server I'd be very much interested in seeing it.
Last time I checked VMware only supported the use of a Windows based proxy
server.
Thanks,
Scott J.

Are these VMware virtual servers? Have you looked into their VMware
Consolidated Backup and NetBackup Integration Module solution? I'm currently
implementing it at our location. Basically you don't need a NetBackup client
on the virtual sever. Rather the VCB framework snapshots the disk and
backups it up LAN-free. You can perform file level or full VM backups.
Basically you setup a VCB proxy server that is also a NetBackup media
server. If you're interested I can send you some documentation on it.

Subject: Re: [Veritas-bu] Veritas 6 upgrade
Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on the
following:
Netbackup 5.1 MP6, Windows
We are backing up virtual servers using the Netbackup agent. At some times
these servers fail with an error code of 57 or 59. It's hit or miss when
the time frame is that the connection is not allowed, but other times it's
fine. Is there any way to get around this or do any of you know any causes
to why the connection is refused?
Thanks
Mike
