Pre 6.0 the device config for each media server and some media information was stored on the media server, post 6.0 this is all in one place, the EMM database.
The database uses a real server engine and since it's handling requests from all other servers there's a bit higher load on the master/emm server than there used to be. That being said, very few people actually have the emm server on another machine. It tends to cause more trouble than it's worth. However, if you master server is an older and less powerful server you may want to consider upgrading the box first. Oh and as noted in a previous reply, you don't want to put NOM on the master server or else you'll end up with two database engines running on the box and that can use a lot of resources. +---------------------------------------------------------------------- |This was sent by [EMAIL PROTECTED] via Backup Central. |Forward SPAM to [EMAIL PROTECTED] +---------------------------------------------------------------------- _______________________________________________ Veritas-bu maillist - Veritas-bu@mailman.eng.auburn.edu http://mailman.eng.auburn.edu/mailman/listinfo/veritas-bu
