At the top of the script, add /usr/local/bin to PATH and you should be okay. I checked a couple of random systems here and a Solaris 10 system has /usr/bin/gunzip and a Solaris 9 system had /usr/bin/gunzip -> gzip. Other Solaris 9 and 10 systems had the link to /usr/local/bin/gunzip.
