We haven't installed PureDisk on XP, we do have it installed on a bunch of Windows 2003 servers (I'm not the PD expert in my group - somebody else is doing most of the PD work). We are not yet using it as NetBackup storage unit - that can't happen until we install NBU 6.5.2. Today, the data gets sent to a dedicated PureDisk appliance which is SuSe-based. 1) If a client has two files with the same data, do both files get sent > to the Netbackup Server? Nope. In fact, we've "seeded" our PureDisk server with copies of the data to speed up the initial backup of the remote sites - this is especially useful if the remote site has a slow network link.
