It terminated because the next day is not a Run day. With a calendar backup, the checked day(s) denote the run day.
In the case you just asked about, if say Friday AND Saturday are checked.... this will lead to an intended or unintended consequence because if the job finishes on Friday, the checkbox on Saturday will launch a new job backing up the same policy. Its always where the job STARTS that matters, not where it ends.... NetBackup will never cancel a job at the end of the window, only deny new ones from starting. Just to clarify... so what was the real reason the job exited with status "196"? because it reached the end of the day (midnight) or because the next day wasn't a runday?
