Hi, I currently have a similar setup, LTO-3 and one LTO-4 drive in a test SL500 robot. I remember doing a something similar with an L700 back in the day with LTO-2 drives and STK 9840s, it had a lot of issues in that environment (L700), although I did not set that one up originally.
For the SL500, I have not noticed any issues to date (I have a single global scratch pool and it picks the correct tape for each drive) even when I have multiple storage units (LTO-3,LTO-4) in the same group. Would I recommend this without thorough and extensive testing? Probably not. Justin.
