I'm curious as to why your DNS admin thought removing the reverse lookup zone was a good idea. The only reasons I've ever gotten at customer sites or within my own infrastructure has been "I thought nothing used them" or "It is a security risk" (which no one has provided valid reasons for this statement). Either way, these statements can be paraphrased "I'm just lazy and don't want to maintain another zone". Sorry for the rant but this just bothers the heck out of me when the "admin" does not understand their own technology.
