Good Morning Wayne, See if this url will fix your problem. I have not tested this but it looks like it should do what you want.
See this url for changing the media id to be different then the barcode. http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/incorrect-media-found-drive-index-0expected-xxx1-found-xxx2-freezing-xxx1 From: veritas-bu-boun...@mailman.eng.auburn.edu [mailto:veritas-bu-boun...@mailman.eng.auburn.edu] On Behalf Of BeDour, Wayne Sent: Friday, November 16, 2012 7:54 AM To: veritas-bu@mailman.eng.auburn.edu Subject: [Veritas-bu] Problem during the Phase 1 part of a tape import Our environment, HP-UX 11-31 currently running one master / media server on NetBackup 6.5.2. We are running mostly unix / Linux backups and a couple windows b/u’s thrown in for good measure. I’m trying to Import tapes from an old shutdown NetBack instance that also ran on a different unix master and am getting errors during the Phase 1 part of the Import. A Media Inventory shows EP0128 for both Media ID and Barcode. Under Media ID Generation set up entry with Robot 1, Barcode Length = 8 and Media Generation Rule 3:4:5:6:7:8 If I use EP0128 for the Import I get the following: 11/16/2012 07:17:43 - begin Import 11/16/2012 07:17:45 - started process bptm (pid=26437) 11/16/2012 07:17:47 - started process bptm (pid=26437) 11/16/2012 07:17:47 - mounting EP0128 11/16/2012 07:17:45 - requesting resource EP0128 11/16/2012 07:17:45 - granted resource EP0128 11/16/2012 07:17:45 - granted resource HP.ULTRIUM2-SCSI.002 11/16/2012 07:18:29 - mounted EP0128; mount time: 0:00:42 11/16/2012 07:18:29 - Error bptm (pid=26437) Media mounted has media id of 0128L1, but EP0128 was requested. Must add 0128L1 to Media Manager volume database and retry. 11/16/2012 07:18:30 - Error bpimport (pid=26422) Status = cannot perform specified media import operation. 11/16/2012 07:18:30 - end Import; elapsed time 0:00:47 cannot perform specified media import operation (176) If I use 0128L1 for the Import I get the following: 1: (95) media id is not assigned to this host in the EMM database Any suggestions as to what I need to do to Import this tape? Thanks in advance.
