Max file system sizes on Solaris:

3.0.2 - almost certainly 1TB
3.5 - 32TB
4.x - 256TB

The 3.5 and 4.x size limits assume an 8k block size. For each block size
smaller (4k, 2k, 1k) knock down the max file system size by a power of
2. You'll need to be on the highest disklayout version to get the larger
sizes for each release, too. You can upgrade that online, but it's
something to be aware of. Similarly, if you want >32TB, you'll need to
be on Storage Foundation license key (a standalone VxFS key won't turn
it on).

There may be a few other best practices too, those would be in the
product documentation, probably the release notes or the SAG appendix. I
suspect using a VxVM volume may be one, but haven't looked.

The max file size on all versions should be bigger than the file system,
~8EB (to handle sparse files).

Regards,
Scott
