To break mirror in place
(Assuming encapsulated)
Assuming valid bootable mirror exist:
Detach all plexes on disk
Mount root slice of brokenoff as e.g. /mnt and edit /mnt/vfstab to change back
to orign al form such as c0t0d0s0 as / also comment out veritas entries in
/mnt/etc/system and disable init script for veritas in mnt/etc/rc2.d

recommended solution: pull the disk.. yes, don't do anything before
hand, just physically pull the mirror disk. If you break the mirror,
you'll have a dickens of a time booting from it if your patching goes
awry. If you leave the mirror alone and pull it (simulating a failure),
booting from the pulled spare is trivial (just remove the other one)

It's possible to do it with breaking the mirror in software, but quite
tricky and time consuming.
