The timeline should probably truncate the list of files committed
updated to ~10 with a link to expand to more.  Huge commits lead to
long scrolls down.

In many respects I actually find the timeline view pretty useless.  A
better view would be an actual timeline of commits.  Eg (excuse the
horrible ascii art if you're using a proportional font):

Commits |             x
        |   x         x x
        | x x x     x x x
Day       s m t w t f s s m t w .....

With little hover boxes to get more info on an individual commit with
username, files commited etc.  Then you could actually view the full
commit in the info panel or browse the revision.  See the diffs.  Etc.
