Looking at the PAIDA website, it looks like PAIDA uses an XML format to transport its data. It therefore shouldn't be hard to write an elementtree based parser to get the numerical data (or sax for the hard core xml feel).
I couldn't find an example file anywhere so I don't know what the data format looks like. Maybe you know of some examples?
You could either write a simple conversion program from xml to veusz data or somehow incorporate it directly in the GUI.
