Ok, that explains a lot! I also could not find any settings in inkscape that would change that, but thanks to you I know now what size to specify.

Ok - it's not a bug. If you hover the mouse over the font size in inkscape, it says XXXpx, not XXXpt. The font size is the correct one for font size specified in points in veusz, as inkscape uses 90 DPI, and points are 72 DPI.

There's supposed to be a way of changing the default - see inkscape bug 168164 - but I can't see it.
